James Russell Barnett, age 70, of Tulsa passed away on Saturday morning, July 29, 2017 at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa, OK. James was born on September 21, 1946 to Russell Delmar and Dolores Eileen (Knost) Barnett in Tulsa, OK. He was a graduate of Will Rogers High School in Tulsa, OK. James was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force. He worked as a Mechanical Assembler for most of his life. He enjoyed muscle cars, working crossword puzzles, fishing, listening to music, eating ice cream, but most of all he loved spoiling and spending time with his grandchildren. James was preceded in death by his parents, 1 sister, Cynthia Graves, 1 grandson, Tanner and 1 granddaughter, Lillee. James is survived by 3 daughters, Kristy Henry of Beggs, OK, Jennifer Foster and husband, Justin of Collinsville, OK and Janell Barnett of Tulsa, OK; 1 son, James Barnett, Jr. and wife, Vickie of Sapulpa, OK; 10 grandchildren, Ryan, Kyle, Brandon, Jordan, Zayne, Alex, Ivy, Nathan, Brooklynn and Kendall; 4 great grandchildren, Hannah, Jamie, Conner and Gabriel; 1 nephew, Jeff Graves; and numerous other relatives and friends. Viewing will be from 11 AM - 5 PM on Wednesday, August 2, 2017 at the funeral home. Services celebrating the life of James will be 11 AM on Thursday, August 3, 2017 at Wright-Brown Family Funeral Home Chapel in Coweta, OK. Burial with full military honors will follow in Fort Gibson National Cemetery in Fort Gibson, OK. Pallbearers are Justin Foster, Jordan Hingey, Steve Hooper, Joe Roach, Zayne Ciarlo and Ryan Henry. Honorary Pallbearers are Nathan Barnett and Kendall Barnett. Family and friends may share memories online at www.brownfamilyfuneralhome.
