Jacqueline Reve McMillin, affectionately known as Jacque, resident of Coweta, OK, passed away peacefully on Thursday evening, February 27, 2025, at St. Francis Hospital South in Tulsa, OK at the age of 89 years. She was born on November 2, 1935, in Pittsburg, KS to Jack Manley and Rhea Florine (Mitchell) Helm. Jacque lived a vibrant life filled with love, creativity, and dedication to her family.
Jacque's early years were spent in Pittsburg, KS, where she attended school and graduated from Pittsburg High School. She played the flute and was in the marching band. Her pursuit of higher education led her to Pittsburg State University. With a passion for beauty and style, Jacque graduated with the first Class of Cosmetology. Although her career as a beautician was brief, Jacque found her true calling in being a devoted wife and mother, a role she cherished throughout her life.
Jacque was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Pittsburg, Kansas for many years. It was there where she served as a deacon, as well as on the bereavement committee. She was a very active part of the quilting group and the women’s association. She also served as a Pink Lady at the local hospital in Pittsburg. As the years went by, her creativity continued in taking up painting and cross-stitching, often sharing her artwork with those she loved. Her social calendar was filled with tea parties with friends, shopping trips, and dining out. In recent years, going shopping with her daughter (or probably anyone!) and to lunch became her favorite pastime. It was her family that brought her the most joy. She relished every moment spent with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, creating memories that they will treasure forever. She loved to make sure there was ice cream and cookies when the great grandkids would come around, and each of them knew where to find the toy drawer and the marbles.
On September 2, 1956, Jacque married the love of her life, Billy DeWayne McMillin, in Pittsburg, KS. Their union was blessed with love, laughter, and a beautiful family. In 2011, Jacque and Billy moved to Coweta, OK, where they continued to make memories and build a life surrounded by friends and family. Jacque continued to live out her faith as a member of Forest Ridge Baptist Church and then later First Baptist Church of Coweta.
In Jacque’s latter years, her faithful companion was her dog, Kriss. They were quite bonded to one another. Jacque faithfully got them each a Sonic burger every day. When she quit driving, she fried him a burger every day. When she got chicken, she always got an extra piece for Kriss.
Jacque's legacy continues through her loving daughter, Jill White and husband Brent of Broken Arrow, OK; her faithful daughter-in-law, Viki McMillin of OK City, OK; her six grandchildren and their spouses, Michael McMillin and wife Dara, Adam McMillin and wife Jessica, and Tory Locken and husband Donny; Joshua White and wife Lara, Jordan White and wife Lauren, Breana McIntosh and husband Jacob; and her 15 great-grandchildren, with one more on the way. She also leaves behind several nieces, nephews, other relatives and special friends who will fondly remember her.
Jacque was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Billy McMillin; her parents, Jack and Florine Helm; her sons, Michael Dewayne McMillin and Kevin "Mark" McMillin; and her brother, Gary Mitchell Helm.
Jacque's laughter, smiles, hugs, warm presence, kind heart, and joyful spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her, yet her legacy will live on through the love she shared and the lives she touched.
A memorial service to celebrate Jacque's life will be held at 12:00 PM on Friday, March 7, 2025, at Forest Ridge Baptist Church in Broken Arrow, OK, with Rev. Brent White officiating. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Claremore, OK.
