Jackie Ray "Jack" Whomble, age 76, of Broken Arrow (formerly of Ada, OK) passed away on Saturday morning, September 2, 2017 at Coweta Manor Nursing Home in Coweta, OK. Jack was born on January 30, 1941 to Othel Obrie and Mildred (Whitaker) Whomble in Morris, OK. He was a 1959 graduate of Liberty High School near Morris, OK. Jack then attended East Central University in Ada, OK where he received his Bachelor's Degree in Accounting. He was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force. Jack enlisted in the Air Force on December 13, 1961 and was honorably discharged on October 11, 1965. He was an accountant and owned and operated Jackie R. Whomble, CPA for over 50 years in Ada, OK. Jack and Kay (Dixon) Whomble were married on May 28, 2015 at Liberty Baptist Church. In the early years of his life, he enjoyed playing baseball and basketball in school. He also enjoyed watching horse races. Jack was preceded in death by his parents, Othel Obrie and Mildred Whomble. Jack is survived by his wife, Kay Whomble of the home in Broken Arrow, OK; 1 brother, Danny Whomble of Tulsa, OK; 2 sisters, Barbara Lawson of Coweta, OK and Sandy Whomble of Okmulgee, OK; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Viewing will be from 2-7 PM on Tuesday, September 5, 2017 at Wright-Brown Family Funeral Home. Services celebrating Jack's life will be at 2 PM on Wednesday, September 6, 2017 at Liberty Baptist Church in Morris, OK with Pastor Jeff Ward officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in Liberty Cemetery. Pallbearers are Don Spurgeon, Tommy Lawson, Richard Walters, Vernon Yocham, Harrel Harbin, Mark Palmer and Jerry Few.
