Jack D. Webb

Jack D. Webb, of Coweta, passed away on Friday afternoon, May 13, 2011 at St. John Medical Center in Broken Arrow, OK at the age of 63 years, 4 months & 24 days. He was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather and uncle. Jack was born on December 19, 1947 in Coweta, OK to OT and Ahniwake (Chuculate) Webb. He attended school in Porter and graduated from Porter High School. After graduating high school, Jack attended Okmulgee Technology Center where he received his Associate's Degree. A proud veteran of the Vietnam War, he served in Vietnam with the United States Army. Jack enlisted in the Army on September 13, 1966 and was honorably discharged on September 12, 1969. Jack was a long-time resident of Porter, OK where he served as town mayor from 1988 - 1992. He and Vicki Jean Smith were married on July 10, 1996. Jack worked at the Ford Glass Plant in Tulsa, OK as forklift operator for 20 years until he retired in 1999. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Porter. His hobbies included fishing, camping and he also enjoyed having breakfast every other week with his Vietnam buddies. Jack was an avid OU fan and he loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. Jack is lovingly survived by his wife, Vicki of the home; his three daughters, Dena Holland and husband, Rev. Steve, of Vinita, OK, Jackie Bobbitt and her husband, Jeremy, of Haskell, OK and Ahnnie Webb and friend, Scott Strong, of Coweta, OK; his step-son, Greg Byers and his wife, Patsy, of Muskogee, OK; his sister, Marie Buster and her husband, Shoat, of Stillwater, OK; eight grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Jack was preceded in death by his parents and five brothers. Funeral services for Jack will be at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 17, 2011 at the First Baptist Church in Coweta, OK with Rev. David Jones officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Porter, OK. Family will greet friends at the funeral home on Monday evening, May 16, 2011 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Family and friends may share memories on-line at www.wrightfh.net.
