Jack "L.O." Vaughn, age 83, of Porter departed this life on early Thursday morning, July 31, 2008 at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Jack was born on April 19, 1925 in Haskell, Oklahoma to Thurman Monroe and Zola (Williams) Vaughn. He attended Hulbert Public Schools until the 10th grade. In 1953, Jack moved to Porter, Oklahoma where he found his home. Jack and Doris (Copeland) were united in marriage on June 7, 1995 in Owasso, Oklahoma. Jack worked as a sales representative for McKesson in Harrison, Arkansas until he decided to retire in 1987. He was a member of the 10th & Rockford Church of Christ in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Jack enjoyed raising cattle, gardening, and he was an avid reader. He will be dearly missed by those who knew him. Left behind to cherish his memories is his wife of 13 years, Doris of the home; his three daughters, Taya Vaughn Patnode of Oklahoma City, Doretta Raap and her husband, Gene of South Dakota, and Narcesa Vaughn of Oklahoma City; his brother, Jimmy Vaughn and his wife, Elanda of Porter; his two step-sons, Allen Harp and Steven Harp, both of Tehachapi, California; six grandchildren; four great grandchildren; one niece; one nephew; four step-grandchildren; four step-nieces and nephews; other family members and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his parents. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, August 4, 2008 at Vernon Cemetery in Coweta with Rev. Steve Loveless officiating.
