J. T. Baucom

J. T. Baucom, age 72, of Porter, Oklahoma departed this life on Wednesday, April 28, 2010 at his home. He was born on August 8, 1937 in Coweta, Oklahoma to Tillford and Letha (Clayborn) Baucom. J. T. was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, and great grandfather to his family. He received his education in the Coweta school system. J. T. served in the United States Army. He and Louise Stewart were united in marriage on March 12, 1971 in Catoosa, Oklahoma J. T. worked as a farmer for 40 years. His hobbies included farming, gardening, traveling, fishing, and going to the casino. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. J. T. is lovingly survived by his wife, Louise of the home; three sons, Phillip Baucom of Eufaula, Oklahoma, Mitch Baucom of Coweta, Oklahoma, and Timmy Baucom of Porter, Oklahoma; two step-sons, Scott Asher of Wagoner, Oklahoma and Clay Wiley of Taft, Oklahoma; two daughters, Pam Dotson of Eufaula, Oklahoma and Michelle Taylor of Checotah, Oklahoma; one step-daughter, Melody Dillingham of Tulsa, Oklahoma; one brother, Marvin Baucom of Coweta, Oklahoma; 21 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. J. T. was preceded in death by his parents, one son, James Thomas Baucom, one sister, and five brothers. Funeral services for J. T. will be at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, May 3, 2010 at Wright Funeral Home Chapel in Coweta, Oklahoma with Rev. Paul Holmes officiating.
