Ivan “Neil” Cosper, age 74, resident of Porter, Oklahoma went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday morning, August 24, 2022 at Saint Francis Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Neil was born on January 15, 1948 in Hinton, Oklahoma to Gene Boyd and Oleta Faye (Newman) Cosper. He was a 1966 graduate of Webster High School in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Neil worked at Sun Oil Company where he met and married the love of his life, Julie Diane Jones on August 31, 1984 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He also worked at Mack Trucks as a lead mechanic and retired from Dresser Rand as an educator. Neil was an avid Ford enthusiast and would only own a Ford vehicle. He enjoyed politics, fishing, animals, watching cooking shows, but most of all he loved spending time with his family.
Neil is survived by his wife, Julie Cosper of the home in Porter, Oklahoma; four children, Dustin Cosper of Raleigh, North Carolina, Holly Carter and companion Dr. Joe Queeney of Fort Smith, Arkansas, Curt Cosper and wife Kristi of Greenwood Arkansas, and Cody Cosper of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; eight grandchildren, Paige Spann and husband Billy, Miranda Mikles and husband Levi, Garrison Carter and wife Annie, Carmen Cosper, Halie Cosper, Waylon Cosper, Charlotte Martin, and Caitlynn Crosslin; seven great grandchildren, Rylea Spann, Tristen Spann, Madisyn Spann, Brinleigh Spann, Emma Mikles, Lakyn Mikles, and Beau Carter; one great grandchild on the way, Maeli Mikels; one sister, Janice Robbins of Tulsa, Oklahoma; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, brothers-in-law, and sisters-in-law.
Neil was preceded in death by his parents, Gene Boyd and Oleta Faye Cosper and one sister, Kitty Baxter.
A memorial service celebrating Neil’s life will be at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, August 31, 2022 at Coweta Assembly in Coweta, Oklahoma with Pastor Steve Lee officiating.
