Inez Reese

Inez A. Reese, age 95, of Coweta departed this life on Friday morning, April 9, 2010 at her home. She was born on August 23, 1914 at a farm North of Deer Creek, Oklahoma to Jon Ray and Jeanette Mae (Sankey) Smith. Inez was a loving and caring mother, sister, and grandmother to her family. She graduated from high school in Deer Creek, Oklahoma in 1931. After graduating high school, Inez attended Tonkawa College for two years. She and Harold Reese were united in marriage on October 6, 1935 in Wakita, Oklahoma and he preceded her in death on September 18, 2005. Inez moved from Blackwell, Oklahoma to Coweta, Oklahoma on October 9, 2001. She was a homemaker for most of her life. Inez was a former member of the Nardin United Methodist Church and was a current member of the Coweta First Assembly of God. Her hobbies included sewing, knitting, doing needle work, cooking, and she enjoyed spending time with her family. She will be dearly missed by her family. Inez is lovingly survived by three daughters, Cartha Minor of Blackwell, Oklahoma, Sherry Ervin of Coweta, Oklahoma, and Penny Montgomery of Mena, Arkansas; one sister, Sue Brookover of Tulsa, Oklahoma; 11 grandchildren; 33 great grandchildren; and 6 great-great grandchildren. Inez was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Reese, one son, Gary Reese, her parents, Jon and Jeanette Smith, two brothers, Jack Smith and Robert Smith, and one sister, Lois Blair. A graveside service for Inez will be at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, April 12, 2010 at Mt. Olive Cemetery in Nardin, Oklahoma with Pastor Gary Rogers of the Coweta First Assembly of God and Chaplain Jack Taylor officiating.
