Ida Ruby Stokes was born October 5, 1924 to Lonnie Gentry and Edna Wilson in Catoosa, Oklahoma. She attended Catoosa schools and graduated high school. On September 18, 1942 married Rufus Lester Stokes.
Ruby became a beautician and later owned beauty shops in Catoosa and Chelsea. In her spare time Ruby enjoyed being outdoors, fishing and exploring the lakes and ponds of Oklahoma. She also enjoyed sewing, making craft, and quilting. Ruby adored her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, always having tea parties and getting into trouble with them. She was preceded in death by her husband Rufus. Ruby is survived by her; daughters;
Janis Scudder, Mary Phillips (Kenny) ;son Lonnie (Alice); grandchildren; Mitzie Miers (Larry), Taddie WeBac (Don), Kevin Dorsey, Lance Stokes, Heath Stokes(Mary), Tim and Kristy Phillips; great-grandchildren; Casey Dunoworth( Jamie), Jessie Miers(Kelly), Kevin Dorsey II, Megan DuBuc, Jordan DuBuc, Ali and Austin Stokes; and great-great-
grandchildren; Aidan and Xander Miers, Naomi and Emma Dunsworth. Ruby entered into rest on June 13, 2016. Ruby was a unique and loving soul and will be missed deeply.
