Icel Brewer

Icel Brewer, age 98, resident of Coweta, Okla. passed away, Tuesday morning, October 22, 2013 at St. John Medical Center in Tulsa, Okla. Icel was born on March 12, 1915 in Danville, Ark. and was the daughter of William Harve and Martha Emma (Haney) Madden. She and William Ernest "Bill" Brewer were united in marriage and he preceded her in death on July 18, 1983. Icel was a homemaker for most of her life. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Coweta. She enjoyed sewing, making quilts and clothes, knitting, crocheting, fishing, gardening and she loved to spend time with her family. Icel is survived by her daughter, Gloria Richardson and husband, James, of Inola, Okla; her two sons, Clem Norman Brewer and wife, Melba, of White Oak, Tex. and Sam Brewer and wife, Ruth Ann, of Benton, Ark.; one sister, Faye Redding of Danville, Ark.; five grandchildren; and numerous great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives. Icel was preceded in death by her husband, William Ernest "Bill" Brewer, her parents, William and Martha Madden, seven brothers and sisters and one grandson, Michael Brewer. The family will greet friends at the funeral home on Friday evening, October 25, 2013 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 pm Saturday, October 26, 2013 at the First Baptist Church in Coweta, Okla. with Rev. David Jones officiating. Burial will follow at Vernon Cemetery in Coweta.
