Howard Cletis Johnson, age 75, resident of Porter departed this life on Friday evening, May 7, 2021 at Ascension St. John Medical Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Howard was born on April 26, 1946 in Bristow, Oklahoma and was the son of Hayward Edward “Bill” and Mildred (Bruton) Johnson. He attended school in Bristow and was a 1964 graduate of Bristow High School. He married the love of his life, Judith “Judy” Gayle James on November 23, 1987 in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. Howard worked as a UAW Quality Representative for Ford Glass for 30 years until he retired in 2007. After retiring, he enjoyed ranching and taking care of his cows. Howard was a baseball fanatic and enjoyed hunting and going to Marvel every summer camping, but most of all he loved spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren.
Howard is survived by his wife, Judy Johnson of the home in Porter, Oklahoma; five children, Lisa Huddleston and husband Rick of Coweta, Oklahoma, Paul Johnson and wife Heather of Taylorsville, Kentucky, Dwayne Goodnight and wife Celeste of Wolf, Oklahoma, Mike Goodnight of Seminole, Oklahoma, and Kim Hall and husband Mike of Coweta, Oklahoma; eleven grandchildren, Tyler Huddleston and wife Paige, Cody Huddleston and wife Heather, Garrett Huddleston, Shelby Thomas, Eric Goodnight and wife Christina, Kylie Neel, Amberley Neel, Lindsay Brotzge and husband Andrew, J.T. Johnson, Tucker Goodnight, and Weston Goodnight; four great grandchildren, Braelie Thomas, Greyson Huddleston, Colt Huddleston, and Silas Brotzge; two great granddaughters on the way; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Howard was preceded in death by his parents, Hayward Edward “Bill” and Mildred Johnson and two sisters, Judy and Deloris.
A memorial service celebrating Howard’s life will be at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, May 12, 2021 at Coweta Assembly of God in Coweta, Oklahoma with Pastor Steve Lee officiating.
