Homer C. Willhite of Coweta, age 88, a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, great-great grandfather and uncle, passed away Wednesday morning, September 5, 2012 at the Jack C. Montgomery VA Medical Center in Muskogee, OK. Homer was born on March 10, 1924 in Broken Arrow, OK and was the son of George Belve and Nola (Leonard) Willhite. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army, serving in World War II. Homer enlisted in the Army on November 16, 1943 and was honorably discharged on November 15, 1946. He and Sylvia Christine Curtis were united in marriage on July 31, 1948 in Broken Arrow, OK. Homer worked as a self-employed brick mason for over 40 years until he retired in 1983. Homer was a member of Christian Family Center in Broken Arrow, OK and the American Legion in Tulsa, OK. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, hunting, sports and baseball. Homer is lovingly survived by his wife of 64 years, Sylvia Willhite of the home; his seven children, Doris Murray and husband, Richard, of Coweta, Scheryl Reynolds and husband, Rick, of Broken Arrow, OK, Beverly Replogle and husband, Bill, of Coweta, Paula Replogle and husband, Buddy, of Porter, Bruce Willhite and wife, Darla, of Coweta, Kim Pearson and husband, Jerry, of Catoosa and Kellie Miller and husband, Lawrence, of Broken Arrow; 22 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Homer was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers, two sisters and two great grandchildren. The family will greet friends at the funeral home on Friday evening, September 7, 2012 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Funeral services for Homer are scheduled for 9:00 AM Saturday, September 8, 2012 at Community Baptist Church in Coweta, OK with Rev. Jimmy Kerr officiating. Burial will follow at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers are Jimmy Hand, Gary Hand, Billy Joe Replogle, Derek Douglas, Lonnie Replogle, Billy Farmer, Brad Willhite, Drew Douglas and Vince Replogle. The family of Homer C.
