Homer Cleary

Homer E. Cleary, resident of Broken Arrow, OK, passed away on Friday evening, May 27, 2011 at St. John Medical Center in Tulsa, OK at the age of 89 years. Homer was born on September 15, 1921 in Haskell, OK and was the son of Robert E. Cleary and Viola (Jenkins) Drennan. He enlisted in the United States Army on October 28, 1939 and was honorably discharged on September 26, 1945. Homer worked as a truck driver for Pacific Motor Trucking Company for 32 years and as a school bus driver for Jenks Public Schools for 9 years. He also worked for the City of Coweta Public Works Department for 8 years finally retiring in February of 2010. Homer and Lorraine Morrell were married on September 7, 1985. He was a member of the Clearview Baptist Church in Broken Arrow, OK. Homer's hobbies included making and playing fiddles and he enjoyed music. Homer is survived by his wife, Lorrie of the home; one son, David Cleary and his wife, Phyllis, of Tulsa; two daughters, Sarah Cleary of Broken Arrow and Adriana Cleary of the home; one brother, Lloyd Cleary of Idaho; three grandchildren, Brandy Abbott, Christy Porter and Alexis Cleary; seven great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. Homer was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Sandra Cleary and two brothers. Funeral services for Homer will be at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at Clearview Baptist Church in Broken Arrow, OK with Pastor Doc Sublett officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow at Haskell Cemetery in Haskell, OK. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday evening, May 31, 2011 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Family and friends may share memories on-line at www.wrightfh.net. Pallbearers are David Cleary, Maynard Morrell, Glenn Morrell, Patrick Morrell, Mark Gros and Scotty Chapman.
