Hazel Yocham

Hazel Yocham, age 84, longtime resident of Haskell, OK departed this life on Christmas morning, Friday, December 25, 2009 at Haskell Care Center in Haskell, OK. She was born on June 30, 1925 in Stidham, OK to Oliver and Bertie (Cotton) Johnson. Hazel was a loving and caring mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother to her family. She was raised and attended school in Stidham, OK. In 1940, Hazel moved from Stidham, OK to Haskell, OK. She and Earl C. Yocham were united in marriage on March 20, 1946 in Fayetteville, AR and he later preceded her in death. Hazel worked as a nutrition aid for the OSU Extension Office for 19 years until she retired in 1987. She was a member of the Central Church of Christ in Haskell, OK. She enjoyed fishing and cooking. Hazel is lovingly survived by her daughter, Jan Holt and her husband, Bill, of Haskell, OK; three grandchildren, Gina Holt, William Scott Holt, and Robert Michael McKinney; eight great-grandchildren, Casey McKinney, Jessica McKinney, Ryan Shae Holt, William Gage Holt, Tiffany McKinney, Derrick McKinney, Ashley McKinney, and Austin McKinney; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Hazel was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one daughter, Earlene McKinney, one grandson, Craig McKinney, two brothers, and four sisters. Funeral services for Hazel will be at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 30, 2009 at the Central Church of Christ, 402 W. Main Street, Haskell, OK 74436. Tom Marcum and Dale Cox will officiate the service. Committal prayers and interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in Haskell, OK.
