Hazel Overall

Hazel Mae Overall of Ponca City, OK passed from this life on Monday, November 24, 2008 at St. Simeon's Episcopal Home in Tulsa, OK at the age of 88 years, 9 months, & 16 days. She was born on February 8, 1920 in Wagoner, OK to Homer E. and Bertha Mae (Piersall) Howard. Hazel attended Wagoner schools until the 8th grade. She and Gerald Joe Overall were united in marriage on June 3, 1939 in Wagoner, OK. Hazel worked as a bookkeeper at The Bookmark in Ponca City, OK for 10 years. She was a member of the Trinity Pentecostal Holiness Church in Ponca City, OK. Her hobbies included sewing, knitting, crocheting, and collecting bears. She will be dearly missed by all those who knew her. Hazel was preceded in death by her parents, 2 sisters, 2 brothers, and 1 grandson. She is survived by her husband of 69 years, Gerald Joe Overall; 3 sons, Gerald Wayne Overall and his wife, Judith, of Ponca City, OK, George Alva Overall and his wife, Nancy, of Owasso, OK, and John Earl Overall and his wife, Connie, of Sanford, FL; 1 daughter, Wanda Susan Manning and her husband, Tom, of Broken Arrow, OK; 2 brothers, Earl Howard and Jim Howard, both of Coweta, OK; 2 sisters, Faye Martin of Bethany, OK and Ella Flesher of Marietta, GA; 13 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Billie Marie Howard of Broken Arrow, OK; niece, Wanda Ward of Sperry, OK; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Family will receive friends on Thursday, November 27, 2008 from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. at Wright Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, November 28, 2008 at Wright Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bruce McCarty officiating. Committal prayers and burial will follow at Vernon Cemetery. Arrangements and services are under the direction of Wright Funeral Home in Coweta, OK.
