Guildia Marie Harris, age 78, of Wagoner passed from this life on Saturday, October 25, 2008 at Park Edge Nursing Center in Tulsa, OK. She was born on August 7, 1930 in Peggs, OK to Robert Lee and Alice Melinda (Spradlin) Brooksher. Marie attended school at Shiloh Country School and Peggs Elementary. On October 17, 1945, she and Howard Thompson were united in marriage in Tahlequah, OK and they later divorced. They had 7 children, 20 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren. In 1999, she and Virgil Harris were united in marriage in Fayetteville, AR. Marie was a homemaker for most of her life. She had previously worked at a nursing home in Broken Arrow as an aid, she worked at Ozark Nursery, she was a cook at Ray's Coffee Shop, she was a babysitter and home healthcare giver, and she was a lawn maintenance worker. She was a member at Towne & Country Christian Church for the past 5 years. Her hobbies included traveling, sewing, needlework, gardening, and doing crossword puzzles. Marie will be greatly missed by all those who knew her. Marie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Virgil Harris; 1 daughter, Doris Ann David; 1 granddaughter, Diana Potter; and 5 sisters, Louise Crabtree, Leoma Patton, Irene Harris, Josephine Walling, and Bernice Dunback. She is survived by 5 sons, Daril Thompson and his wife, Patti, of Broken Arrow, OK, Leslie Thompson and his wife Kathryn of Oklahoma City, OK, Bobby Thompson of Kansas City, MO, Terry Thompson and his wife, Colleeen, of Castlegar, British Columbia, and Ronald Thompson of Hulbert, OK; 1 daughter, Judy Balenti and her husband, Paul, of Tulsa, OK; 2 sisters, Billie Taylor of Tulsa, OK and Frankie Shrum of Fort Gibson, OK; 20 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, October 29, 2008 at Towne & Country Christian Church in Coweta, OK with Rev. Ed Bateman and Rev. Roy Blackmore officiating. Burial will follow at Vernon Cemetery. Arrangements and services are under the direction of Wright Funeral Home in Coweta.
