Gloria Jean Hunter, age 56, of Vinita, Oklahoma, formerly of Coweta passed from this life on Tuesday, July 29, 2008 at OSU Medical Center in Tulsa. She was born on February 24, 1952 in Coweta, Oklahoma to Cecil W. and Reuby Mae (Hammett) Hunter. Gloria graduated from Broken Arrow High School. She and Kenneth Paul Duke were united in marriage and they later divorced. Gloria worked as an accountant for Hope Lumber for three and a half years and she had previously worked at Mazzio's for one year. She was of the Baptist faith. Gloria's hobbies included crafts, fishing, and canoeing. Left behind to cherish her memories are her two sons, James Oscar Duke of Olathe, Kansas and Cecil Wayne Duke of Vinita, Oklahoma; her daughter, Angela Leigh Duke of Olathe, Kansas; her two sisters, June Eva Norman of Broken Arrow and Peggy Lea Wooden of Coweta; her grandchild, Cyan Marie Duke; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, August 4, 2008 at Wright Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David Jones officiating. Committal prayers and interment will follow at Vernon Cemetery. Arrangements and services are under the direction of Wright Funeral Home in Coweta.
