A bundle of joy was born on August 26, 1954 in Tahlequah, OK to Glenda Darlene Cole and she named him Glenn Ray "Chubs" Cole. He passed away on Saturday, June 23, 2018 at St. John Medical Center in Tulsa, OK at the age of 63. He was a lifelong resident of Broken Arrow, OK. Glenn leaves behind his wife of 12 years, Carol Cole; 3 daughters, Vickie Newport and husband Jeff, Tiffany LaPorte and companion Brian Venable and Jaunette Harpe and husband Spence; 3 sons, William LaPorte and wife Kathy, Jason LaPorte and Jim Stephen and companion, Rachael Heathcock; 2 brothers, Cecil Cole and Ricky Ballard and wife, Charla; 1 sister, Nancy Kimery; 8 grandchildren; 1 great grandson; 6 nieces; 3 nephews; and many close friends. In his early years, he was a brick layer. Glenn worked for the City of Broken Arrow for 40 years and met many friends he called brothers. In April 2006, Glenn and Carol Cole were introduced. Glenn met Carol through his job. He asked for her phone number several times. Carol was oblivious that she was being flirted with and gave Glenn her office phone number. A co-worker, Leroy, approached the weigh station window and said, "I know somebody who wants your phone number". Carol then said all your guys are married or too young except Wally. She gave her phone number to a co-worker and stated, "I better not get any phone calls from young boys or married men. Give this number to Wally." Glenn and Carol Cole were married on October 14, 2006. His passion in life was helping family and friends. Every holiday was celebrated with love and joy. He loved to play pool in his early years. He enjoyed watching his grandsons wrestle. You would never leave his house hungry. He made the best BBQ food. His heart was so big he always had extra gifts just in case the family extended at holidays. His wife, children, siblings and grandchildren were the joy of his life. He was preceded in death by his mother, Glenda Darlene Cole and his daughter, Catherine Darlene Cole. Glenn will be missed and memories will be locked.
