Glenda Ruth Holmes

Glenda Ruth Holmes, age 81, longtime Coweta resident went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, April 16, 2019 in Coweta surrounded by her family. Glenda was born on January 11, 1938 in Pottsville, AR and was the daughter of Loyal Allen and Vida Mae (Harkey) Judkins. She received her education in Muleshoe, TX and Broken Arrow, OK. Glenda was a realtor and worked at Ralph Sanders Real Estate, Glenda Holmes Realty, Simon & Associates, and retired from McGraw Realtors in 2016 after 35 years in real estate. She was also a bus driver for Coweta Public Schools for 19 years. Glenda was a faithful and longtime member of the Coweta Assembly of God. She was a woman of great faith, trusting God in all things, reflecting a Christ-like love to all. Glenda was a loving and devoted mother to her seven children, and she cared deeply for all her family and friends. Glenda is survived by four sons, Randy Holmes and wife Karen of Coweta, OK, Rick Holmes and wife Sandy of Coweta, OK, Charles Holmes and wife Laura of Coweta, OK, and Carl Holmes and wife Angelyn of Bartlesville, OK; two daughters, Terry Simmons and husband John of Cleveland, OK and Renea Donohue and Denny of Inola, OK; two brothers, Jerry Judkins and wife Mary of Lubbock, TX and Jackie Judkins and wife Elaine of Dennison, TX; one sister, Ruby Gilliland of Cottonwood, AZ; one brother-in-law, RA Davis of Pottsville, AR; 23 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends. Glenda was preceded in death by her parents, Loyal Allen and Vida Mae Judkins; one son, Gary Wayne Holmes; one sister, Mary Jane Davis; one daughter-in-law, Janna Holmes; and two son-in-laws, David Donohue and Dan Bailey. Viewing will be from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 18, 2019 at Brown Family Funeral Home. Services celebrating Glenda's life will be at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, April 19, 2019 at the Coweta Assembly of God in Coweta, OK with Pastor Steve Lee officiating. Burial will follow in Vernon Cemetery in Coweta. Pallbearers are her grandsons, Jason Holmes, Cody Holmes, Randell Holmes, Clint Howard, Justin Holmes, Johnson Bailey, Hunter Holmes, Blaine Ford, and Jeff Lormer.
