Gillie Hamilton

Gillie Hamilton, Jr., 80 year old resident of Coweta, passed away on Wednesday morning, Nov. 19, 2014 at home in Coweta, OK. He was born on Dec. 12, 1933 to Troy Gillie and Opal E. (Miller) Hamilton in Haskell, OK. Gillie grew up in Haskell, where he attended school. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army. Gillie owned Hamilton & Son DX Auto Repair in Tulsa for many years until he retired. He enjoyed fishing and always loved telling a good fish story. Gillie was preceded in death by his parents, Troy Gillie Hamilton and Opal E. Hunter and 2 brothers, Clarence Jasper Hamilton and Lewis R. Hamilton. Gillie is survived by 4 children, Thelma Baker and husband, Russell, of Broken Arrow, OK, Sheila Galey and husband, Loran, of The Woodlands, TX, Gilles Hamilton and wife, Mary Ann, of Coweta, OK and Gilda Boyle and husband, Art, of Monroe, LA; 2 brothers, Clyde Edward Hamilton and wife, Portica, of Eufaula, OK and Rufus Lee Hamilton of TN; 1 sister, Carol Hawin of AR; 10 grandchildren, Dustin Baker, Zachary Baker, Melissa Galey, Madeline Galey, Jason Hamilton, Chad Hamilton, Jacob Boyle, Jared Boyle, Jesse Boyle and Jeffrey Boyle; 4 great grandchildren, Daxton Baker, Crayton Baker, Mahiya Hamilton, Bailee Hamilton and 1 great grandchild on the way; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Viewing will be from 9 AM - 8 PM on Thursday, Nov. 20, 2014 at the funeral home. Funeral services celebrating the life of Gillie will be at 10 AM on Friday, Nov. 21, 2014 at Wright-Brown Family Funeral Home Chapel in Coweta, OK with Rev. Mark Tibey of Grace Hospice officiating. Burial will follow in Vernon Cemetery in Coweta. Pallbearers are Dustin Baker, Zachary Baker, Jason Hamilton, Chad Hamilton, Curt Puckett and Matthew Moore.
