Geraldine Marie (Simpson) Miller, age 86, of Coweta, Oklahoma passed away on Sunday, March 23, 2025, in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
On September 8, 1938, Gerry was born in Crawford County, Missouri to the late Walker “Pete” C. Simpson and late Belle B. (Koenig) Simpson.
Gerry married the love of her life, Billie Edward Miller, on May 11, 1957. They were committed to each other until his death in 2022, for 65 years. They lived in the River’s Edition for their first few years of marriage and birthed their child, Janet in 1961. They then moved to Auxvasse where they resided for 47 years. In 2018, they moved to Coweta, Oklahoma to be near their daughter, son-in-law, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Gerry was a loving and supportive wife, not many wives could corral someone like Bill, but she managed to take excellent care of him. Before their marriage, he was known to say, “I am marrying the prettiest girl in the county”.
Gerry was also an excellent loving mother. She was known to support Janet and other community children as a girl scout leader and 4-H instructor of sewing, cooking, and crocheting.
Her talents were many. She excelled in crocheting, knitting, quilting, cooking, sewing, needle points, cross stitching, and tatting. Her projects won many ribbons, even at the Missouri State Fair. She was a member of the Prairie Pine Quilt Guild.
She is survived by her daughter, Janet (Miller) Wybrant and husband Lawrence of Coweta, Oklahoma; three grandchildren, Dustin Wybrant and wife Megan, Kaylahne Bindrum and husband Kevin, and Tawnalah Dilts and husband Joey; eight grandchildren, Boston Wybrant, Kolston Wybrant, Irelynn Wybrant, Carson Bindrum, Gavin Bindrum, Adalyn Bindrum, Gabriel Dilts, and Luna Dilts; her brother, Robert Simpson; her sister, Dorothy Oliver; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 1:00 – 2:00 PM on Saturday, March 29, 2025, at Arnold Funeral Home in Mexico, Missouri. Services celebrating Gerry’s life will follow at 2:00 PM on Saturday, March 29, 2025, at Arnold Funeral Home Chapel in Mexico, Missouri with Pastor Kevin Wilkerson officiating. Following the service, she will be laid to rest at Auxvasse Cemetery in Auxvasse, Missouri. After the graveside, everyone is invited to fellowship at the Grand Prairie Baptist Church in Auxvasse, Missouri, where desserts and drinks will be provided.
