George E. Beams

George E. Beams, age 83, resident of Coweta passed away Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at Grace Living Center in Muskogee, OK. He was born on July 28, 1928 in Bartlesville, OK and was the son of Lee and Edna (Orr) Beams. George was a graduate of Bartlesville High School and then he honorably served our country as a Merchant Marine for two years. He worked at Mac Tools as a tool salesman for over 30 years until his retirement in 1989. George was a member of the First Christian Church in Coweta. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, hunting and watching NASCAR Racing. George is lovingly survived by his daughter, Linda Gaither and her husband, Howard, of Porter; his son, Randy Beams of Atlanta, GA; his step-daughter, Kay French of Broken Arrow; four grandchildren, Kelly and John Wood, Crystal and Matt Chrysler, Grant and Ashley Beams and Taylor and Athena Beams; six great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. George was preceded in death by his parents, Lee and Edna Beams and two brothers. The family will be present at a visitation on Thursday evening, October 20, 2011 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Funeral services for George will be at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, October 21, 2011 at the First Christian Church, 221 S. Bristow Ave., Coweta, OK 74429. Tony Holmes will officiate the service with Pastor Allan Swinson assisting. Committal prayers and interment will follow at Vernon Cemetery in Coweta. The family of George E.
