Coweta

Gary Wayne Cauthon, age 75, entered into the Gates of Heaven on Monday evening, January 15, 2024, at his home in Coweta, OK. He was born on November 14, 1948, in Vinita, OK to Jasper Gerald and Naomi Lee (Beisly) Cauthon. Gary's life was a testament to his enduring love for his family and his unwavering faith.

Gary graduated from Broken Arrow High School in 1967. It was there that he laid the foundation for a life filled with hard work and dedication. Gary was a skilled welder, mechanic, and farmer, trades that he honed with precision and pride throughout his career.

On May 24, 1967, Gary married the love of his life, Myrtle Lee Murphy, in White Oak, OK. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and the joy of raising a family. Gary is survived by his devoted wife of 56 years, Lee Cauthon of the home in Coweta, OK, and their four children: Patricia Pearson of Tulsa, OK, Melinda Cauthon of Tulsa, OK, Jasper James Cauthon and wife Nikki of Sand Springs, OK, and Brenda Jones and husband Scott of Claremore, OK. His legacy continues through his ten grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren, who will forever cherish the memories they made with their grandpa. Gary is also survived by his sisters, Rita McManus of Owasso, OK, and Janice Peck of Broken Arrow, OK, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives who will miss his presence dearly. Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Jasper Gerald, and Naomi Lee Cauthon.

A man of deep faith, Gary was a longtime member of Thomas Community Church in Broken Arrow, OK, where he found great solace and community. His love for the Lord was evident in his daily life and in his passion for witnessing to others. Gary's interests extended beyond his work and church activities. He had a fondness for going to auctions, tinkering in his shop, and most of all, spending precious time with his grandchildren. His family and his church were the cornerstones of his life, and he served both with a heart full of love and dedication.

Gary's life was a beautiful tapestry of devotion, service, and love. He will be remembered not only for the life he lived but for the countless lives he touched. His spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew him, and his memory will be a guiding light for his family and friends.
