Garry Wayne Sarty of Coweta, age 72, passed away peacefully Thursday, July 26, 2012 at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa, OK. Garry was born July 5, 1940 in Claremore, OK and was the son of Homer Gilmore and Edna Marie (Dunlap) Sarty. Garry received his education at Haskell Institute in Lawrence, KS. He was a machinist at Raytheon for around 40 years. Garry was a member at Davis Chapel United Methodist Church. Garry enjoyed fishing, hunting and he enjoyed watching sports. Garry will be missed, as a loving son, father, brother, grandfather, uncle and friend. Garry is lovingly survived by his son, Garrett Sarty and companion, Cindy White, of Plano, TX; his mother, Edna Sarty of Coweta; his brothers and sisters, Bert Sarty of North Carolina, Norma Jo White of Stillwater, OK, Pat Widdoes of Coweta, Carol Withers of Coweta, Homer Sarty, Jr. of Anna, TX, Shannon Sarty of Checotah, OK and Leslie Crutchfield of Coweta; his grandson, Leighthan Vinson; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Garry was preceded in death by his father, Homer Sarty and his daughter, Garri Lynn Sarty. A wake service will be held at 7:00 PM Friday, July 27, 2012 at Wright-Brown Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM Saturday, July 28, 2012 at Davis Chapel United Methodist Church in Coweta with Rev. Ben Ewing officiating and Rev. Amy Johnson assisting. Burial will follow in Vernon Cemetery. Pallbearers are Danny McManus, Dillon McManus, John Rike, Heath Sarty, Homer Sarty and Jay Potter. Buck Yocham will be an Honorary Pallbearer.
