Garcia C. Burrough of Spiro passed away on Tuesday, July 31, 2007 at Sparks Regional Hospital in Fort Smith, Arkansas. He was 73 years old. Garcia was born on January 3, 1934 in Coweta, Oklahoma to Junious and Jureline (Pearson) Burrough. He received his education and graduated from high school in the Redbird, Oklahoma school system. He and Ester Lee Griffin were united in marriage on September 7, 2001 in Spiro, Oklahoma. Garcia worked as a bus driver for the Metro Tulsa Transit Authority for fifteen years and Tulsa Public Schools for seven years. His hobbies included fishing, landscaping, gardening, and playing bingo. Survivors include his wife, Ester of the home; one son, Garcia Burrough, Jr. of Fayetteville, North Carolina; one daughter, Cozetta Burrough of Fayetteville, North Carolina; three sisters, Vivian Dixon of Rochester, New York, Rosetta Burke of Rochester, New York, and Etha Lee Robinson of Tulsa; twelve grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and an adopted brother and sister, Lawrence and Phyllis Fellows of Tulsa. He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Beulah, one daughter, Bloomie Burrough, one brother, and three sisters. Funeral services were at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 6, 2007 at Mt. Rose Baptist Church in Coweta with Reverend Sandy Barnes officiating. Committal prayers and interment will follow at Washington Cemetery in Coweta.
