Gail Schoonover

Broken Arrow

Gail Schoonover, age 84, resident of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday morning, July 18, 2020 at Broken Arrow Nursing Home in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.  Gail was born on March 26, 1936 in Wagoner, Oklahoma and was the daughter of Claud and Emmaline Rachel (Bristol) White.  She was a graduate of Broken Arrow High School.  Gail married the love of her life, John P. Schoonover, Jr. on July 2, 1979 in Miami, Oklahoma.  She was a devoted housewife for most of her life.  Gail was also a skilled seamstress and owned seamstress shops.  She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Sweetwater, Texas and the Elks Lodge in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.  Gail was an incredibly talented artist and specialized in paintings.  She enjoyed dancing and she loved spending time with her family.

Gail is survived by her son, David Sorenson and wife, Pamela of Tulsa, Oklahoma; her stepdaughter, Judy Williams and husband, Steve of Tulsa, Oklahoma; her stepson, Jimmy Schoonover of Sweetwater, Texas; her grandchildren, Cole, Connor, and Kyle Williams; her niece, Shannon McCoy and husband, Damon of Brookings, Oregon; and numerous other relatives.

Gail was preceded in death by her parents, Claud and Emmaline Rachel White; her son, Cory Don Moheng; her brothers, Billy Cole and Donald G. Cole; and her sister, Violet Cole-Girardeau.

Graveside services celebrating Gail’s life will be at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, July 21, 2020 at the Fort Gibson National Cemetery in Fort Gibson, Oklahoma.
