Freddy Joe "Fred" Stacy

Freddy Joe "Fred" Stacy, age 82, longtime Coweta resident went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday morning, March 15, 2019 at his home in Coweta, OK surrounded by his family. Fred was born on January 7, 1937 at home in Proctor, OK and was the son of John Emery and Ethel Mae (Goodson) Stacy. He married the love of his life, Sharon JoAnn (Robinson) Stacy on March 10, 1956 in Tahlequah, OK. Fred worked as a drywall finisher for 15 years and as an Electrician at Crane Carrier Company in Tulsa where he retired in 1996 after 35 years. He attended the First Baptist Church in Coweta. Fred loved to ride horses, especially with his grandchildren. His favorite horse was Mighty. Fred loved and was so proud of his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was a wonderful husband, father, brother, grandpa, great grandpa and father-in-law. Fred is survived by his wife of 63 years, Sharon JoAnn Stacy of the home in Coweta, OK; 3 children, Phil Stacy and wife, Gina of Oktaha, OK, Sherri Stunkard of Coweta, OK and Bill Stacy and wife, Michelle of Tulsa, OK; 9 grandchildren, Justin Stacy and wife, Suzanne of Oktaha, OK, Kristen Turner and husband, Kerry of Piedmont, OK, Katie Moody and husband, Nick of Nowata, OK, Kent Stacy of Oktaha, OK, Brandon Gullett and wife, Cheryl of Tahlequah, OK, Kendall Gullett, Toni Jones and husband, Kyle of Edmond, OK, Austin Stunkard of Coweta, OK and Clark Stunkard of Coweta, OK; 10 great grandchildren, Jana Stacy, Tyann Stacy, Rye Stacy, Henry Turner, Hannah Turner, Daniel Moody, Maci Moody, Ryan Gullett, Jo Jones and Landon Jones; 1 sister, Norma Peace; 3 brothers, Warren Stacy and wife, Audrey, JB Stacy and Cecil Stacy; 1 sister-in-law, Billy Wantland and husband, Lewis; 1 brother-in-law, John Robinson and wife, Karen; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Fred was preceded in death by his parents, John Emery and Ethel Mae Stacy; 6 sisters, Vivian Peace, Irene Downs, Wanda Lee Stacy, Lecil Stacy, Effie Marie Stacy and Rachel Stacy; and 3 brothers, Carl Stacy, Paskel Stacy and James Eugene Stacy. Viewing will be from 9:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m. on Monday, March 18, 2019 at Brown Family Funeral Home with the family present to receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Services celebrating Fred's life will be at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 19, 2019 at the First Baptist Church in Coweta, OK with Rev. Ed Rutherford and Rev. Jack McCoy officiating. Burial will follow in Vernon Cemetery in Coweta, OK. Pallbearers are Justin Stacy, Kent Stacy, Austin Stunkard, Clark Stunkard, Brandon Gullett and Curtis Stacy. Honorary Pallbearers are Randy Poplin, Kevin Stacy, Mike Stacy and Kendall Gullett.
