Freda M. Riggs, age 80, of Tulsa, Oklahoma passed from this life on Saturday, March 29, 2008 at her home. Freda was born on April 22, 1927 in Coweta, Oklahoma to Albert R. and Maude (Floyd) Claxton. She received her education in the Coweta school system and graduated from Coweta High School. Freda and Claude Riggs were united in marriage on July 3, 1957 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Freda worked as an executive secretary for Governor J. Howard Edmondson for eight years. She also worked for Seismograph Corporation for 27 years. She attended Century Cathedral Church in Tulsa, Oklahoma, where she was an active member. Survivors include two sons, Michael Dean Riggs of Los Angeles, California and Charles Guy Riggs of Muskogee, Oklahoma; one daughter, Michele Claudia Searcy of Bixby, Oklahoma; one brother, Loran Claxton of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; eight grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephew. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, three brothers, and three sisters. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 2, 2008 at Century Cathedral Church, 1212 S. 129th E. Ave, Tulsa, Oklahoma with Rev. Bob Alsup and Bobby Allen officiating. Committal prayers and interment will follow at Vernon Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Wright Funeral Home.
