Fred Henry Lantroop, age 85, of Coweta passed from this life on Monday, February 18, 2008 at Haskell Care Center in Haskell, Oklahoma. Fred was born on February 4, 1923 in Ft. Towson, Oklahoma to Thad and Ludie (Harrington) Lantroop. He received his education in the Ft. Towson school system. He was in the United States Navy. Fred and Hazel Parsons were united in marriage on May 17, 1945 in Ringold, Oklahoma. Fred was self-employed as a painter for 20 years. He was also a truck driver. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Haskell. He was also a member of the V.F.W. and the Moose Lodge. His hobbies included working puzzles, gardening, and playing cards. Survivors include four sons, Doug Lantroop of Coweta, Oklahoma, Gary Lantroop of Ft. Worth, Texas, Vernon Lantroop of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and Joe Lantroop of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; three daughters, Bonnie Pulliam of Coweta, Oklahoma, Mary Grubbs of Norman, Oklahoma, and Unokie Miner of Redding, California; two brothers, Steve Lantroop of Atlanta, Georgia and Walter Lantroop of Wright City, Oklahoma; two sisters, Ruthie Finnel of Valiant, Oklahoma and Jean Gramlich of Moore, Oklahoma; 34 grandchildren; 58 great grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, one son, three brothers, and three sisters. Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 21, 2008 at First Baptist Church in Haskell with Rev. Gary McKeen officiating.
