Frank Dobbins

Paul Franklin Dobbins of Coweta, passed from this life at his home on Saturday, January 9, 2010 at the age of 75. He was born on February 3, 1934 in Coweta, OK to Deed Benton and Cleora Loutitia (Lee) Dobbins. Frank was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle, and grandfather to his family. He was born and raised in Coweta, and he graduated from Coweta High School in 1952. Frank attended Northeastern State University where he received his Bachelor's Degree in Business. He joined the United States Army on July 24, 1956 and was honorably discharged on April 30, 1958. He and Carole Hill were united in marriage on March 6, 1961 in Claremore, OK. She preceded him in death. Frank married Carol Mader on July 24, 1999 in Plano, TX. He worked at Travelers Insurance Company in the Claims Department for 30 years until his retirement in 1992. Frank was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Coweta, OK. His interests were fishing, gardening, horses, and he enjoyed spending time with his grandsons. Frank will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Frank is survived by his wife, Carol; his two daughters, Cheryl MeGee and her husband, Eddie, of Choctaw, OK and Cynthia Hurd of Ft. Worth, TX; Carol's children, Melisa Ambers Rose and her husband, Darryl, of Dallas, TX, Eric Ambers and his wife, Christina, of Frisco, TX, and Holly Ambers of Plano, TX; his two brothers, Deed Dobbins, Jr. of Broken Arrow, OK and Jack Dobbins of Tahlequah, OK; his sister, Edith White of Tulsa, OK; five grandsons; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Frank was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, five brothers, and two sisters. A memorial service for Frank will be at 1100 a.m. on Saturday, January 16, 2010 at the First United Methodist Church in Coweta, OK. Rev. Kathryn Boren will officiate the service.
