Floyd James Massey, Sr., also known as "Pete", departed this life Monday morning, December 9, 2019 at Hillcrest Hospital South in Tulsa, OK at the age of 68. Pete was born June 20, 1951 in Nacona, TX and was the son of Leonard Massey and Ollie (Holmes) Essman. He was a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps, serving from 1971 to 1976. Pete married the love of his life, Floretta Pearline Gularte in November 1972. He was a truck driver for most of his life and retired from Trucks For You. Pete enjoyed bowling and was a storyteller. He will be missed by all that knew and loved him. Pete is survived by his wife, Floretta "Flo" Massey of Dewar, OK; two children, Floyd Massey, Jr. and wife Holli of Coweta, OK and Melissa Massey of Dewar, OK; one brother, Roy Essman and wife Nicole of Bristow, OK; one sister, Sheila Owen of Sand Springs, OK; six grandchildren, Jasmine, Stevie, Cole, Chase, Carly, and Kenadi; two great grandchildren, Myarae and Paisley; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Pete was preceded in death by his parents, Ollie Essman and Roy Essman, II and his sister, Dorothy Brooks. A memorial service celebrating Pete's life will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 13, 2019 at CrossPoint Baptist Church in Coweta, OK with Pastor Brett Wheeler officiating.
