Floyd Dobbins

Floyd Warren Dobbins, Jr., age 74, of Porter, OK passed away peacefully, Saturday evening, April 6, 2013 at his home in Porter, OK with his family at his bedside. Floyd was born on October 10, 1938 in Porter, OK and was the son of Florence Snelson and Floyd Warren Dobbins, Sr. Floyd was a 1957 graduate of Coweta High School. Floyd and Joyce Suelene Hartness were united in marriage on June 20, 1958 in Tahlequah, OK. Floyd worked in plant maintenance for most of his life manufacturing rubber. Floyd was a member of the First Free Will Baptist Church in Porter. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, gardening and playing dominoes and canasta. Floyd is lovingly survived by his wife of 54 years, Joyce Dobbins of the home; his two sons, David Dobbins and wife, Patricia, of Mannford, OK and Timothy Dobbins and wife, Brenda, of Muskogee, OK; two brothers, Doyle Dobbins and wife, Pauline, of Owasso, OK and Charles Dobbins and wife, Betty, of Porter, OK; two sisters, Fairene Ford of Catoosa, OK and Bernice Robertson of Catoosa, OK; two granddaughters, Natalie Dobbins and Rachel Campbell; one great granddaughter, Bailey Campbell; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Floyd was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, F.W., Gene, Bill and Theodore and three sisters, Alma, Thelma and Viola. Funeral services for Floyd are scheduled for 2:00 PM Thursday, April 11, 2013 at Porter Free Will Baptist Church in Porter, OK with Rev. Bobby Jenkins officiating. Burial will follow in Vernon Cemetery in Coweta, OK. Pallbearers are Dwayne Jenkins, Paul Dobbins, Scott Dobbins, Ricky Robertson, Danny Robertson, Jeffery Thomas and Randy Woodward. Honorary Pallbearers are Roy Woodward, Donald Watkins, Cecil Hartness and Dwayne Sanders. The family of Floyd W. Dobbins, Jr. entrusted his care & services to Wright-Brown Family Funeral Home, 210 S.
