Evelyn Jones

Evelyn Faye Jones of Coweta, age 88, a loving and caring mother, sister, grandmother, and great grandmother, passed away Monday evening, May 7, 2012 at her home in Coweta, OK. Evelyn was born on September 29, 1923 in Slick, OK and was the daughter of Louis and Beulah (Woods) Davenport. Evelyn and Donald Williamson were united in marriage on January 7, 1944 in Hardy, AR and he preceded her in death in 1955. On June 3, 1962, she and Robert Jones were united in marriage in Harrison, AR and he preceded her in death in 1991. Evelyn worked as a self-employed beautician until she retired in 1983. In 1988, she moved to the Coweta area from Okmulgee, OK. Evelyn was a member of the First Baptist Church. Evelyn enjoyed knitting, crocheting, fishing, watching OU football, and gardening. Evelyn is lovingly survived by her daughter, Donna Daniels and husband, Bobby, of Coweta, OK; one step-son, Robert Jones of OK; two step-daughters, Virginia Ash of Tulsa, OK and LaVena Rush of Henryetta, OK; one brother, Billy Davenport of Hardy, AR; two sisters, Thelma Garner and Dorothy Rogers both of Hardy, AR; two grandchildren, Kimberly Wolf of Bixby, OK and Jeff Daniels of Galena, MO; three great grandchildren, Kaitlyn Daniels, Rachel Wolf, and Maggie Daniels; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. Evelyn was preceded in death by her husbands, Donald Williamson and Robert Jones, her parents, Louis and Beulah Davenport, one step-son, Danny Williamson, three sisters, and two brothers. The family will greet friends at the funeral home on Wednesday evening, May 9, 2012 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Funeral services for Evelyn are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Thursday, May 10, 2012 at the First Baptist Church in Coweta with Pastor Larry McDonald and Rev. David Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Vernon Cemetery. Pallbearers are Dale Davenport, Jeff Daniels, Ed Burrow, Bill Davenport, Lukas Widener, and Gary Daniels.
