Eva Marie Jennings

October 2, 2013 Eva Marie Jennings, of Prague, 101, entered Eternal life September 28, 2013. She was born January 4, 1912 to Harry B and Rosella (Whittington) James in Clinton, MO. Eva was the oldest of six children. Her family moved from Missouri to Drumright, OK when she was in her teens. When Eva graduated from Drumright High School she moved to Tulsa which is where she trained in cosmetology and became a beautician. While living and working in Tulsa, she met the love of her life, Lewis Jones. After a short courtship, they married in 1944. The couple traveled extensively throughout the US and eventually made their home in Cushing, OK. For several years Eva worked at the Cushing Hospital as a nurses' aide. In 1981, her husband passed away and she moved to Prague to be closer to her family. In 1987, Eva married Paul Crews and they made their home in Paden until his death in 1991. After moving back to Prague, she met and married Herman Jennings in 1996. They were happily married until his death in 1999. Eva was a petite lady of charm and grace. She enjoyed getting dressed up and walking from her apartment to downtown Prague almost daily. As a faithful member of Prague's First Baptist Church, she loved visiting and going on outings with the ladies from her Sunday School class. After her 99th birthday, she decided to give up her home and move to Parkland Manor Living Center where she lived and celebrated her 100th and 101 birthdays with family and friends. Mrs. Jennings was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, three sisters and two brothers. Survivors include nieces and nephews: JoAnn and Riggy Howell of Prague, Russ and Neisha Haskins of Shawnee, Beverly Maddox of Paden, Dr. Jim and Pat Phillips of Little Rock, AR, Nona Jo and Harton Spatz of Conway, AR, Frank and Connie James of Wichita, KS, Larry and Janet James of Wichita, KS, Patrick and Patricia Murphy of Rose Mount, MN, Jerell Banzet of Tulsa, OK, and Thelma Haynes of Tulsa, OK. Graveside services will be 2 PM on Wednesday, October 2, 2013 at Park Grove Cemetery in Broken Arrow, OK with Pastor Tim Emmons presiding.
