Ethel Bristol

Ethel Marie Bristol, age 97, of Coweta passed from this life on Wednesday evening, May 20, 2009. She was born on May 13, 1912 in Reyno, AR to Isaac and Stella (Gibbs) Groves. Ethel was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother to her family. She attended the Reyno School in Arkansas. She moved to the Coweta area in 1928 from Arkansas. Ethel was a homemaker for most of her life. She and Lonzo Samuel Bristol were united in marriage on January 4, 1929 in Coweta, OK. Ethel was a member of the Church of Christ in Coweta. Her hobbies included quilting, gardening, baking, traveling, fishing, and she enjoyed spending time with her family. Ethel was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one sister, Thelma Bowd, and one great grandson, Jake. Ethel is lovingly survived by her two daughters, Helen Downs and her husband, Milton, of Sapulpa, OK and Juanita Miller of Tulsa, OK; three grandchildren, Cathy Jon Horn, John Miller, and Jeffrey Miller; two great grandchildren, Isaac Miller and Olivia Miller; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and a host of friends. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 23, 2009 at the Church of Christ with Rex Shrum officiating. Committal prayers and interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery in Porter, OK.
