Estlean Marie Webb Bales of Tulsa passed away on Wednesday, June 6, 2007 at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa. She was 78 years old. Estlean was born on December 31, 1928 in Coweta, Oklahoma to William J. and Ona (Lantz) Webb. She received her education in the Warner, Oklahoma school system and graduated from Warner High School in 1945. She then attended Connors State College in Warner and Northeastern State University in Tahlequah and received her teaching degree. She and L.J. Bales were united in marriage on April 29, 1955 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. They were married for 52 years. Estlean worked in the customer service department at Sears and Roebuck Company for 23 years. She also taught school in Warner and Tulsa. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 308 in Tulsa. Her hobbies included reading, going to craft shows, planting flowers, playing bingo, and shopping. Survivors include her husband, L.J. of the home; two daughters, Shelley Lamon and her husband, Bob, of Coweta and Dawnda Willibey and her husband, Dick, of Catoosa; one sister, Canzada Tydings Harris of Coweta; one sister-in-law, Hope Webb of Coweta; and five grandchildren, Mitchell Lamon, Caleb Lamon, Andrea Willibey, Jackson Willibey, and Ryan Bales. She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Jeffrey Bales, and one brother, Gordon Webb. Funeral services were held at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, June 11, 2007 at Wright Funeral Home Chapel in Coweta with Reverend Allen Carson officiating. Committal prayers and interment will follow at Vernon Cemetery. Arrangements and services are under the direction of Wright Funeral Home in Coweta.
