Elsie Robbins Fields

Elsie Robbins Fields of Salisbury Mills, New York transitioned May 7th, 2018. She believed Jesus Christ is the son of God and God raised him from the dead. Daughter of the late Amzie Wiley Robbins and Josephine Greene Robbins, born December 4th, 1925 in Fort Gibson, Oklahoma. She was married to the late Benjamin F. Fields, Jr. Graduated from Lincoln High School in Wagoner, Oklahoma as a Salutatorian of her class. She received a Bachelor of Science Degree from Langston University in Langston, Oklahoma and received a Master of Teaching Degree from Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. Elsie began her teaching career as a substitute teacher for the Kansas City Public Schools, Kansas City, Kansas. A Mathematics and Science teacher in Clinton, Oklahoma and an Elementary Teacher for the Wagoner City School District in Wagoner, Oklahoma. Her career was complete as an Elementary Teacher for the Newburgh Enlarged City School District, Newburgh, New York where she retired after 25 years with the district. She was also a member of the Disabled American Veterans (DAV) Auxiliary. Elsie is predeceased by her husband (Benjamin), son (Dwight), parents and fifteen (15) siblings. She is survived by her son's Benjamin F. Fields III, of Salisbury Mills, New York, Darrell B. Fields of New York City and numerous nieces and nephews. She leaves the above in the "Shadow of God's Wings". A Homegoing Celebration will be at 10 AM on Friday, May 18, 2018 at First Baptist Church, 800 Martin Luther King Blvd., Wagoner, OK 74467. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Shawnee, OK. Family and friends may share memories online at www.brownfamilyfuneralhome.com.
