Elizabeth White

Elizabeth Ann White, age 87, of Tulsa, Oklahoma departed this life on Wednesday, April 21, 2010 at St John Medical Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was born on October 2, 1922 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Wallace and Flossie (Williamson) Hough. Elizabeth was a loving mother, sister, and grandmother to her family. She received her education in the Tulsa school system and graduated from Central High School in 1939. She attended Baylor University and then Oklahoma University where she graduated with an Associate's Degree in Social Science. She and Charles Francis White were united in marriage on June 29, 1946 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Elizabeth and her husband Charles moved to Coweta in 1973 when they bought Wright Funeral Home which they owned and operated for 20 years until their retirement in 1993. She also worked as a social worker for Travelers Aid for 15 years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Tulsa, Oklahoma and Coweta Study Club. Her hobbies included shopping, traveling, being with her family, and doing church work. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Elizabeth is lovingly survived by her two sons, David White and his wife, Brenda, of Marshall, Texas and Tom White and his wife, Judy, of Tulsa, Oklahoma; her one brother, Wallace Hough, Jr. of Tulsa, Oklahoma; her two sisters, Patricia Knight and Cathy Herndon both of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; three grandchildren; Gregory White, Michelle White, and Lisa White; and numerous nieces and nephews. Elizabeth was preceded in death by parents, husband, and one sister. Funeral services for Elizabeth will be at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 24, 2010 at First Baptist Church in Coweta, Oklahoma with Rev. David Jones officiating.
