Elizabeth Ann Stites

Elizabeth Ann Stites, age 87, departed this life on Saturday, January 19, 2019 in Nacogdoches, TX. Elizabeth was born on February 12, 1931 in Okmulgee, OK to James W. and Eugenia Mary (Bell) Tipton. She and Clarence Junior "Chief" Stites were married on April 19, 1947. Elizabeth was a devoted homemaker for most of her life, who loved caring for her family. In her later years, she worked at Wal-Mart as a door greeter. She enjoyed crocheting, reading her Bible, going to church and spending time with her family. Elizabeth is survived by 6 children, Clarence Wayne Stites and wife, Carolyn of Bakersfield, CA, Rebecca Royall of Marietta, GA, Anna Still and husband, Greg of Nacogdoches, TX, Deborah Fernandez of Okmulgee, OK, John Stites of Colorado Springs, CO, Rickey Stites of Sacramento, CA; 33 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren; 1 sister, Michia Stanberry of Orland, CA; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Elizabeth was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Junior "Chief" Stites, her parents, James W. and Eugenia Mary Tipton, 2 sons, Mark Stites and Matthew Stites, 1 brother, Ralph Edward Ewing and 1 sister, Leona Reid. Viewing will be from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 23, 2019 at Brown Family Funeral Home. Services celebrating Elizabeth's life will be at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 24, 2019 at Brown Family Funeral Home Chapel in Coweta, OK with Rev. Daniel Stites officiating.
