Elizabeth Ann Elder "Liz" left this life for a better place on May 30, 2017. She was preceded in death by her parents, Zed McAlister, Estelle McAlister, and sister Norma Posey. Liz was an animal advocate and throughout the years nurtured Ichabod, Oscar Meyer, Nikki, Samantha, Beau, Sophia and Max. She is survived by her sister, Mary Jane Bias and her husband Henry, nephews Randy Bias (Beth); Jeffrey Bias (Angie); Lee Posey; and furry nephews Sparky and Tiger. Liz also leaves behind lifelong friend Paula Long, her husband Doug, daughter Kelly and son Zack who all thought of Liz as family and have fond memories of the many visits they shared. A member of her work family and friend, Bill Fisher, remembers her as the ultimate professional with a heart of gold who was willing to go the extra mile for co-workers, clients, and anyone who needed assistance. Liz attended Muskogee Central High School and Bacone College. She began her career in the federal government with an assignment at the Veterans Administration in Muskogee. She later transferred to the Department of the Navy as a Human Resources Services Supervisor serving in Bermuda, San Diego, and New Orleans. Upon retirement she moved to Broken Arrow to be closer to her family due to health issues. She faced a final health challenge which could not be overcome on this Earth so she moved on to a higher realm where there is no pain and no suffering. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race. I have kept the faith. 2 Timothy:4-7 A graveside service celebrating Liz's life will be at 3 PM on Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at Vernon Cemetery in Coweta, OK with Rev. John Miller officiating.
