Edwinna "Eddie" LeMay, age 81, resident of Coweta, Oklahoma, passed away at her home in Coweta, Oklahoma, on Thursday, December 5, 2024. She was born on August 30, 1943, in Boswell, Oklahoma to Burl Eual and Mary Levonia (Ribera) Darnell. Eddie's life was a testament to her unwavering spirit and dedication to her family, friends, and community.

Eddie was a graduate of Iowa Park High School in Texas, where she showcased her athletic talents on the basketball court. Her career spanned various roles, from her first job at Woolworth Company to account keeping at a furniture store, and from working at a construction company to her long-standing tenure at Flintco for 15 years. She concluded her professional journey at ABC supply, where she dedicated over 35 years before retiring. Alongside her career, Eddie was a devoted homemaker, always ensuring the well-being of her children.

Throughout her life, Eddie lived in multiple states, including Oklahoma, California, Texas, Connecticut, and Florida. As the third born of seven siblings, she was a pillar of support and joy within her family. Eddie was a devoted mother to her two children, Curtis and Debbie, and her love extended to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought immense joy to her life.

Eddie's faith played a central role in her life, as she was a faithful member of the St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Coweta. Her dedication to the church was evident through her service in various capacities, including treasurer, finance council member, offering counter, and dessert table volunteer. Her commitment to her faith and community was unwavering.

Known for her competitive nature, Eddie enjoyed a variety of games, including cards, dominoes, bowling, Mahjong, and Bunco. Her hobbies also included an extensive collection of movies and DVDs, reading books, and collecting rosaries, miniature shoes, spoons, and magnets from around the world. Eddie's strong-willed personality meant she never shied away from a good-natured debate or argument.

Eddie is survived by her loving family: her son, Curtis LeMay and wife Laura; her daughter, Debbie Coday and husband Jeffrey Terrio; her grandchildren, Eric Coday and wife Jillian, Callie Vargas and husband Chris, MacKenzie LeMay, and Adyson LeMay; her great-grandchildren, Marlene "Marley" Coday and the soon-to-arrive Baby boy Coday; her siblings, LaWanda Jo Heacock, Marlene Lewis, Geraldine Tucker and husband Jimmy, and Chris Darnell; her sister-in-law, Barbara Darnell; her brother-in-law, Jimmy Tucker; and a host of cherished cousins, nieces, nephews, and members of her church family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Burl Eual Darnell and Mary Levonia Darnell; her siblings, Lenn Darnell and Cornelia Frazier; and her in-laws, Don Frazier, Vincent Lewis, and Vickie Darnell.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to Gretchen Soerries, Laura Mercado, DeLouise Johnson, Father Leo Ahanotu, Amber, Amanda Gotziner, Kristen Adair, Deena Nickerson, and the staff at Brown Funeral Home for their compassionate care and support during Eddie's final days.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Eddie to St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Woman’s Ministry or the building fund.

Visitation for Eddie will be held from 4:00 - 8:00 PM on Friday, December 13, 2024, at Brown Funeral Home in Coweta, Oklahoma. A viewing will be held from 9:00 – 9:45 AM and the funeral mass will take place at 10:00 AM on Saturday, December 14, 2024, both at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Coweta, Oklahoma. Eddie will be laid to rest at Vaughn Memorial Cemetery in Poteau, Oklahoma.
