Edward Lee Lagers, age 74, resident of Coweta departed this life on Monday afternoon, May 20, 2019 at Brookdale Cedar Ridge in Broken Arrow, OK. Ed was born on June 10, 1944 in Kansas City, MO and was the son of Edgar Lee and Christine (Scott) Lagers. He was a graduate of Will Rogers High School in Tulsa, OK. Ed was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force. He enlisted in the Air Force on August 30, 1962 and was honorably discharged on August 29, 1966. He married the love of his life, Martha Ann Hannan in Sherman, TX. Ed worked as a draftsman at Select Engineering, Inc. in Tulsa until he retired. He enjoyed auto racing and working with the pit crew and rebuilding his classic cars. Ed coached boys' soccer for years and was a cub scout leader. He was a devoted husband and father and he enjoyed spending time with his family. Ed is survived by his wife of 55 years, Martha Lagers; two sons, Darrin S. Lagers and wife Shannon of Tulsa, OK and Brad E. Lagers and wife Amy of Sand Springs, OK; one daughter, Toni Gilliland and husband Charles "Bud" of Coweta, OK; nine grandchildren, Amanda, Kayla, Michael, Ryan, Curt, Jessica, Emily, Blake, and Keagan; four great grandchildren, Keyren, Kaysen, Kinley, and Kennedy; and numerous other relatives and friends. Ed was preceded in death by his parents. Viewing will be from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 23, 2019 at Brown Family Funeral Home. Services celebrating Ed's life will be at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, May 24, 2019 at Brown Family Funeral Home Chapel in Coweta, OK with Rev. Brody Morris officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow in Vernon Cemetery in Coweta. Pallbearers are Michael Day, Ryan Day, Curt Masters, Blake Lagers, Kenny Blair, and Frank Rainbolt.
