Edward Dwain Hunter

Edward "Ed" Dwain Hunter, age 64, of Coweta passed from this life on Sunday, January 13, 2008 at St. Francis Hospital South in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Ed was born on April 1, 1943 in Coweta, Oklahoma to Floyd and Gertie (Foster) Hunter. He received his education in the Coweta school system and graduated from Coweta High School in 1961. Ed and Sharon K. Clemons were united in marriage on August 3, 1964 in Coweta, Oklahoma. Ed owned and operated H & R Auto Parts and Hunter's Service Station. His hobbies included fishing and watching OU football. He also enjoyed being with his friends. Ed is survived by his wife of 43 years, Sharon, of the home; two daughters, Cindy Hunter and JoAnn Hunter, both of Coweta, Oklahoma; one sister, Kathy Harrison of Coweta, Oklahoma; two sisters-in-law, Nancy Hollingshed and her husband, Frank, of Coweta, Oklahoma and Becky Bell and her husband, Tim, of Tulsa, Oklahoma; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Ron Hunter, his mother and father-in-law, Jewel and Vi Clemons, and one brother, Jimmy Hunter. Funeral services were at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 16, 2008 at the Church of God of Prophecy in Coweta, Oklahoma with Pastor D. Frank Hughes officiating. Committal prayers and interment will follow at Vernon Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Wright Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Jim Ritzendollar, Jimmy Hunter, Jr., John Clemons, David Hollingshed, Danny Hollingshed, and Mark Thomas. Honorary pallbearers will be George Human, Frank Hollingshed, Tommy James, and MHD Alchammat.
