Edna Carolyn Laughery, known to everyone as Carolyn, resident of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma entered into the Gates of Heaven on Monday morning, June 19, 2023, at the Clarehouse in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 91 years. She was born on January 17, 1932, in Sumter, South Carolina to Andrew and Eunice (McClard) Hill.

Carolyn was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She is survived by her children, SFC Roger Baggett (Retired Army) and wife Brenda, Major Carolyn Reed (Retired Army), and Harvin Baggett (Retired US Customs); her stepchildren, Jeffrey Laughery, Major Steve Laughery (Retired Air Force), Barry Laughery and wife Rhonda, and Tamara “Tami” Lewis and husband Randy; 14 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. She was also a foster parent to 24 children.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Dean Laughery, her parents, Andrew and Eunice Hill, her brother, Bob Blackford, her sisters, Norma Krebs and Anita Timmons, and her son-in-law, Bob Reed.

Carolyn and Larry were married on June 8, 1968, in Fort Benning, Georgia. They shared a deep love and commitment to one another, providing a strong foundation for their family. Carolyn was a dedicated and loving mother, always supporting her children and stepchildren in their endeavors and celebrating their achievements.

Carolyn was a member of Our Finest Hour Church in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, where she found solace and strength in her faith. Carolyn was also a retired bookkeeper, using her skills and expertise to help others manage their finances.

In her free time, Carolyn enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, creating memories that will live on in the hearts of those who knew her. She was a loving and caring presence in the lives of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, always offering a listening ear and words of wisdom. Carolyn's legacy of love and devotion to her family will be remembered and celebrated for generations to come.

Services celebrating Carolyn's life will be held at 10:30 AM on Thursday, June 22, 2023, at Brown Funeral Home Chapel in Coweta, Oklahoma, with Pastor Dan Zirkle officiating. A private family burial will take place at Fort Gibson National Cemetery in Fort Gibson, Oklahoma.
