Edith Louise White, age 96, of Tulsa, OK (former resident of Muskogee, OK) a loving and caring mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother and aunt, passed away peacefully Thursday afternoon, July 11, 2013 at Senior Suites in Broken Arrow, OK. Edith was born on July 17, 1916 in Coweta, OK and was the daughter of Deed and Cleo (Lee) Dobbins. Edith was a 1935 graduate of Coweta High School. She and Ova White were united in marriage on December 8, 1934 in Coweta, OK and he preceded her in death on August 10, 2005. Edith was a homemaker for most of her life. Edith was a charter member of the Westside Church of Christ in Muskogee and a member of the Park Plaza Church of Christ in Tulsa. She enjoyed gardening, flowers and she loved spending time with her grandchildren. Edith is survived by her daughter, Charlene Foxx and husband, Roy, of Tulsa, OK; her son, Glenn White and wife, Michelle, of Alexandria, VA; one brother, Dr. Jack Dobbins of Tahlequah, OK; 5 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. Edith was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, 7 brothers and 2 sisters. Funeral services for Edith are scheduled for 10:00 AM Monday, July 15, 2013 at the Church of Christ, 125 W. Cypress St., Coweta, OK 74429. Mitch Wilburn, Todd Foxx and Glenn Foxx will officiate the service. Burial will follow in Vernon Cemetery in Coweta.
