Edgar Dale Mashburn

Edgar Dale "Ed" Mashburn, age 67, of Porter, Okla. passed away Friday, November 15, 2013 in Porter, Okla. Ed was born on May 23, 1946 in Tontitown, Ark. and was the son of Henry S. and Jimmie (Robirds) Mashburn. Ed and Marion (Gilbert) Mashburn were united in marriage on October 7, 1963 in Coweta, Okla. and they divorced in 2012. He then married Pennie Woolsey on June 28, 2013 in Wagoner, Okla. Ed worked as a Wagoner County Deputy Sheriff for over 15 years. He also worked at Wagoner County Barn as a foreman and currently as a farmer. Ed enjoyed riding around the countryside, listening to gospel music, tinkering, being outdoors and spending time with his grandchildren. Ed is survived by his wife, Pennie Woolsey-Mashburn of the home; 3 daughters, Aleasha Fisher and husband, Michael, of Coweta, Okla., Tonya Stone of Coweta, Okla. and Lawantha Hartsfield and husband, Brad, of Porter, Okla.; 1 brother, James Mashburn of Porter, Okla.; 2 sisters, Francie Main of Sprindale, Ark. and Ludean Prim and husband, Tom, of Springdale, Ark.; 6 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren and 1 on the way. He is also survived by 4 step-daughters, Frances Meeks and husband, Kelly, Michelle Schultz, Amy Friend and husband, Mike and Nikki Phipps; 18 step-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Ed was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Jimmie Mashburn, 3 brothers, George, H.N. and Jerry, 2 sisters, Alma Lou and Patricia and 1 grandson, Wesley Hartsfield. Funeral services for Ed are scheduled for 11:00 am Wednesday, November 20, 2013 at the Church of God of Prophecy in Coweta, Okla. with Rev. Bob Main officiating and Rev. Jim Woolsey assisting. Burial will follow in Vernon Cemetery in Coweta. Pallbearers are Dennis Hatfield, Mark Hatfield, Tony Davis, Tony Sisney, Logan Meeks, Dwain Denton, Ralph Curry and Jim Hargrove. Honorary Pallbearers are Ronald Todd, Bob Gilbert, Elmer Shepherd, Dale Mashburn, Jack Knight and Mike Denton. Viewing will be on Tuesday, November 19, 2013 from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm.
