Eddath Lenora Gaither of Porter passed away on Friday, September 14, 2007 at Ambassador Manor Nursing Home in Tulsa. She was 82 years old. Eddath was born on September 15, 1924 in Hulbert, Oklahoma to Houston and Mary (Doyle) Taber. She received her education at the Washam Chapel School. Eddath and Daymond Gaither were united in marriage on May 7, 1945 in Wagoner, Oklahoma. Eddath worked as a salesperson for Anthony's Department Store for 20 years until her retirement in 1999. Her hobbies included fishing, shopping, cooking, and she loved spending time with her grandchildren. Survivors include two sons, Rick Gaither and his wife, Diana, of Porter and Larry Gaither and his wife, LaVon, of Tulsa; two daughters, Donna Ledbetter and her husband, Gene, of Mannford, Oklahoma and Janie Cathcart of Coweta; one brother, Byrl Taber of Haskell; three sisters, Ruth Dillingham of Haskell, Frances Forester of Inola, and Mary Nell Parks of Broken Arrow; eleven grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two brothers, and two sisters. Funeral services were at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 19, 2007 at First Baptist Church in Porter with Reverend Dale Clayton and Sara Gaither officiating. Committal prayers and interment will follow at Vernon Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Wright Funeral Home, Coweta. Pallbearers were Derrick Gaither, Chris Ball, Ronny Wilhite, Tommy Gaither, Gene Ledbetter, and Tim Willard. Honorary pallbearer is Gene Fernandez.
