Earnest "Ernie" A. Joice

Earnest Arllen Joice, also known as “Ernie”, age 83, longtime Coweta resident departed this life on Friday morning, December 18, 2020 at Saint Francis Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma.  Ernie was born on May 17, 1937 in Prue, Oklahoma and was the son of James and Florence Helen (Whisanat) Joice.  He attended school in Wynona, Oklahoma and Cleveland, Oklahoma.  Ernie married Deloris “Dee” M. Casey on December 23, 1961 in Coweta, Oklahoma.  He worked at Matrix Service in Catoosa, Oklahoma as a welding foreman for many years until he retired.  His passion was rebuilding and restoring classic cars.

Ernie is survived by his son, Earnest Allen Joice of Mounds, Oklahoma; one brother, Jerry Joice and wife Toni of Coweta, Oklahoma; five grandchildren, Susan Marie Faith and husband Devon, Amanda Gail Joice, Jesse Allen Joice and wife Laura, Willie Rea Joice, and Eric Colter Joice; three great grandchildren, Brent Allen Faith, Nicholas Ryan Joice, and Kenci Tyler Faith; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Ernie was preceded in death by his wife, Dee Joice; his parents, James and Florence Helen Joice; and two brothers, James Joice and Houston Joice.

Viewing will be from 2:00 – 8:00 PM on Monday, December 21, 2020 at Brown Funeral Home.  Graveside services celebrating Ernie’s life will be at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, December 22, 2020 at Vernon Cemetery in Coweta, Oklahoma with Rev. Brody Morris officiating.
