Earl Horn

Earl Horn, age 85, of Coweta departed this life on Monday afternoon, June 28, 2010 at Southcrest Hospital in Tulsa, OK. He was born on February 28, 1925 in Cookson, OK to Frank and Cornelia (Byers) Horn. Earl was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, great grandfather, and great-great grandfather to his family. He received his education in the Buckhorn School in Cherokee County, OK. Earl also attended Tech School in Visalia, CA. He and Rose Webster were united in marriage on May 10, 1947 in Stilwell, OK. They came to Coweta in 1969 from Blackgum, OK. Earl worked as a construction worker for Tulsa County for 20 years until his retirement in 1987. He was a member of the Coweta Church of Christ. His hobbies included fishing, hunting, gardening, and he enjoyed visiting. Earl will be dearly missed by all his family and friends. Earl is lovingly survived by his wife, Rose of the home; three daughters, Gayle Dill and her husband, Buddy, of Checotah, OK, Janet Watson and her husband, Stan of Broken Arrow, OK, and Ann Moss of Coweta, OK; one sister, Mary Armstrong of Edmond, OK; five grandchildren, Joyce Herrington, David Martin, Amy Brown, Matthew Moss, and Lee Dale Moss; six great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends. Earl was preceded in death by his parents, one grandson, three sisters, and five brothers. Funeral services for Earl will be at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, July 2, 2010 at Blackgum Baptist Church in Blackgum, OK with Rex Shrum officiating. Interment will follow at Box Cemetery in Blackgum, OK.
