Earl Allen Curtis, age 77, longtime Coweta resident, entered into the Gates of Heaven at his home in Coweta, Oklahoma, surrounded by his family on Wednesday morning, November 1, 2023. He was born on February 28, 1946, in Conran, Missouri to Carlos and Linda Mae (Rankin) Curtis. Earl lived a life filled with love, service, and dedication to his family.

Earl was a proud graduate of Portageville High School in Portageville, Missouri. After high school, he bravely served his country by enlisting in the United States Air Force on January 6, 1966, and was honorably discharged on May 16, 1969. Following his military service, Earl embarked on a successful career as a General Manager for U-Haul and later as a certified airframe and powerplant aircraft mechanic at American Airlines, where he worked for over 20 years until his retirement.

On September 16, 1967, Earl married the love of his life, Ruthie Lee Hinkle, in Chouteau, Oklahoma. Their loving union was blessed with two children, Brian and Melissa. Earl was a devoted family man who cherished every moment spent with his loved ones. He was also a dedicated member of the Coweta Assembly and took great pleasure in his hobbies, which included gardening, fishing, and beekeeping. Earl was a proud member of the Coweta American Legion Post 226 and the Coweta Masonic Lodge #251, where he was known for his generosity and commitment to service.

Earl is survived by his wife, Ruthie Curtis of the home in Coweta, Oklahoma; his son, Brian Curtis and wife Alicen of Coweta, Oklahoma; his daughter, Melissa Turner and husband Jeff of Owasso, Oklahoma; his grandchildren, Abigail Turner, Emma Turner, Katy Turner, and Charis Curtis; his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Brenda and Brian Mascho; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Earl was preceded in death by his parents, Carlos and Linda Curtis; his siblings, Pauline Townsend, James Curtis, Herbert Curtis, Hulan Curtis, and Brenda Bay; and his in-laws, Doug and Nadine Hinkle.

Visitation for Earl will be held from 4:00 - 6:00 pm on Sunday, November 5, 2023, at Brown Funeral Home in Coweta, Oklahoma. A service celebrating Earl's life will take place at 10:00 am on Monday, November 6, 2023, at Coweta Assembly in Coweta, Oklahoma, with Pastor Steve Lee officiating. Earl will be laid to rest with full military honors at Vernon Cemetery in Coweta, Oklahoma.
